First of all I would like to say that I am a noob when it comes to gel nails. I bought a gel manicure kit for my birthday. I bought these to remove my gel polish just because Amazon recommended it. First thing I noticed when I got them and just put them on my finger to test. There is a small piece of plastic that I believe was connected during manufacture. It's not completely clipped, so the little tongue kinda digs into your skin while the clip keeps it in place. I figured sticking a cotton swab in there wouldn't be a problem. I don't like waste, so I use (tear and) a cotton swab for 3-4 fingers. So this little tab was a problem during use. I think I could cut it. Another problem that never crossed my mind because I'm new to this. Gel polish remover requires acetone.: well, stupid, I never thought about how fast acetone evaporates. It makes the whole "foil wrapped" thing more reasonable. This is to prevent evaporation. So that evaporation, combined with my sparing use of cotton, meant 20 minutes of soaking time plus lots of plucking and scraping off the polish. remove all. I don't know if this is normal? This was the first time I used them. If I find creative ways to make them work better I'll update them. I bet they would be awesome for regular nail polish. Guess I must have done a good job with my gel if it was that hard to take off ;) good for me! Rschunimagu.
