I installed two lights on a trailer I built with a 4 wire harness that connected to my 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The brake lights and turn signals only work if the jeep also has running lights, but the running light function in these lights did not work. I then purchased a Curt Powered Trailer Tail Light Converter with 4-pin spade connector, P/N C56190, figuring that the CAN bus circuitry on the Jeep was preventing the trailer lights from working properly. Brake lights and direction indicators now work correctly without Jeep parking lights on, and brakes and navigation lights work when Jeep parking lights are on; However, if a turn signal is turned on while the running lights are on, both the left and right lights will flash. No more throwing good money at bad money; It's time to find a new lighting setup that actually works.
