As a team photographer, I take a lot of pictures at my son's lacrosse games at school. I used to use a USB 2.0 SD card reader and start transferring photos and stepping away from my PC during the transfer. One of my considerations was a card reader with a longer cable (my USB 3.0 ports are on the back of the PC and I didn't want to keep reaching for the PC to insert the SD card.
