If you want to use this with a USB device (probably not a camera but an audio interface, ethernet, drives etc.) that does NOT have its own power supply, you MUST buy an EXTRA 120V USB HUB Lightning for it -Plug on Apple Camera Adapter POWER ONLY FOR IPAD, NOT FOR USB DEVICES. If you don't have a USB HUB WITH ADDITIONAL POWER SUPPLY, you'll get the error message "Unable to Use Device - The connected device is using too much power" on your iPad. I spent two hours with Apple techs who had no idea how this device works and wasted my time not knowing anything about the product. First they told me it only works with the camera (false) and then they told me my adapter was broken (false).
