This toothpaste foams like normal toothpaste and is gray instead of black like other charcoal pastes. So I'm not a fan. When I buy charcoal toothpaste, I want something different than regular toothpaste. This product appears to be a cross between a regular toothpaste and a good refreshing charcoal paste. It also ends prematurely. UPDATE: After using Nuva Toothpaste for 6 months I can give a better review. What I have noticed is that the non-lathering toothpaste makes my teeth feel absolutely clean. However, Nuva's foamier toothpaste whitens my teeth. The whitening effect is visible after 2 days! I drink a lot of green tea and this toothpaste makes my teeth shine. So now I use BOTH non-foaming toothpaste (morning) and Nuva foaming toothpaste at night. Sometimes I freak out. I don't think it really matters which toothpaste comes first. As a result, Nuva works to brighten! One more thing: Nuva contains aspartame, an artificial sweetener that can be harmful to your health. It is worth doing your research before choosing this toothpaste.
