Review on Upgrade Your Computer Performance with SAMSUNG 850 EVO 250GB SATA III Internal SSD by Mateusz Kazana ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality exceeds all expectations, I recommend to buy.

I chose between Kingston HyperX Savage, WD, OCZ, Plextor. Criteria = speed + reliability. I settled on the Samsung 850 EVO. In order not to risk the guarantee, although I overpaid a little, I took it from a reliable retailer in St. Petersburg. Firmware EMT02B6Q. Production date 26 01 2022. The speed corresponds to that declared by the manufacturer. do not forget to connect to SATA3 and set the AHCI mode. Win10 x64 (1607 14393.726) installed from a USB3 flash drive in 2.5 minutes. Loading a bare Win10 with only drivers installed (with the need to enter a password disabled via control userpasswords2) until the desktop appears 1.5 seconds! After installing all the ates (the version has become 10.02022393.953) + all the necessary software, including DrWebSS, given that 10+ necessary programs are loaded into the tray, Win fully loaded after POST - 25 seconds! System response is instant! HardDiskSentinel shows that during daily operation, the temperature of the SSD fluctuates between 31-35 C. To optimize SSD moved pagefile. Sys and swapfile. Sys to HDD. Also, using mklink, I transferred the Windows\Installer + windows\SoftwareDistribution + MSOCache + browser caches + iTunes backup folders to the HDD. This freed up 30+Gb from the SSD. There are a lot of optimization instructions on the Internet, will help you! After optimization, CCDRedy shows that ~ 600-800 MB of data is written to SSD per day, while on average 25-40Gb is written to HDD for the same day, not counting the volume of document files with which work is performed, which are located on the third HDD. By the way! 3DNews published an article "SSD reliability: endurance test results [ated 03/15/17]" in which the Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB second generation (MZ-75E250, firmware EMT02B6Q) completed the test with a record endurance indicator of 2671 TB (against 75 TB declared by the manufacturer)! In general, I am very pleased with the choice of SSD - it does its job 100+% and fully justifies its price at this stage of technological development! In 3-5 years I will take PCI-E SSD

Pros
  • Fastest, Mega Reliable, Doesn't heat up, Noiseless.
Cons
  • there are no shortcomings
