You may never know if it works properly.

Display is difficult to read. When switched on, all LCD segments are dark. I need to find the right viewing angle to get readings. So true? How could we know? I've been a staff metrologist for 15 years, so I'll tell you - we need at least two liquid solutions to verify accuracy. The ppm value of 1 should be on the low end of the operating range for your device. The other's ppm should be at the highest level. If both solutions appear correctly, you may have the right tool. In this step you only check the range. To test for "linearity" you need to add additional equally spaced test points in the center of the test area. Unless you test EVERY instrument against a known and/or universal standard, you have NO way of knowing if it is REALLY accurate. In this case, too, you need to repeat the test regularly - start with an interval of 3 months. Much luck.

Pros
  • Quick Water Tester: The four-in-one digital TDS water tester can accurately and quickly test the levels of heavy metals, soluble salts, ionic organics, etc. in water, and displays in ppm (parts per million) on the screen.
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks
