I bought it as a kit for a router, which I turned into a torrent rocker. It's good that you were smart enough to watch S. M. A. R. T. As it turned out, inside is the usual "green" drive WDC WD15EARX-00PASB0. As you know, the "green" from WD suffers from one problem, namely, if you use it under Linux, get ready for the fact that the disk heads will be constantly parked. Thus, their own mechanics. During the first 26 hours of operation, the heads were parked as many as 333 times, which is almost 13 times per hour, that is, every 5 minutes. Since I have already solved a similar problem with "greenery", and it is solved by booting into DOS and running the WDIDLE3 utility with the /S300 parameter. But as it turned out, this will not work if you connect it via USB. I had to spit on the warranty and carefully open the box. I used 5 plastic cards, slipping them around the perimeter, between the bottom and side walls. Then I unscrewed the controller board, connected it to the mother, loaded DOS, executed WDIDLE3 / S300. 20 minutes were spent on everything about everything, 15 of which I opened the box.
