Review on Stalwart Portable Adjustable Industrial Fan Blower - Heavy Duty Mechanics Floor and Carpet Dryer with 3-Speed by Yolanda Martinez

The fan is weak; Fan finally died after 2 years

Let me preface this review by stating that about 20 years ago I had an original Blue Blower that they had sold out. The design is stolen, but this engine is worse. A lot of other reviews complain about the lack of airflow and I have to agree with them; the fan is just too weak. It says "300 cfm" so I should have known better. I ordered a 1200 cfm unit as a replacement. Working in the store's garage. The environment is dirty, the humidity is moderate. The fan is not repairable - the two halves of the main body are glued together and the fan assembly is soldered internally. The fan cage was attached to the motor shaft with a nut on 13 halves of the main body glued together. You cannot pull out the motor and fan cover without destroying the plastic fan cover. The motor assembly can be detached, but the plastic fan shroud makes it difficult to disassemble. I was surprised that the motor shaft has two bearings - most "cheap" fans use a bushing with an oiled felt washer as a support. That. Even after the two bearings had been lubricated, the fan's plastic cage was so badly damaged that it caused a slight roar at the lowest speed; The fan made such a loud noise at medium to high speeds that it would soon self-destruct. The reason for all these problems was that the fan randomly slowed down (almost a complete stop) and accelerated to maximum speed, with signs of support (bearings) getting stuck. Another star deducted for lack of maintenance.
