Review on 🧢 Knitter's Pride Karbonz Fixed Circular Needles, 8/5mm, 16-inch: Expert Knitting Tools for Precision and Comfort by Morgan Gilmore

Low Profile Braids

Knitter's Pride Karbonz are my new favorite knitting needles, at least the sizes 2 and smaller that I've used. I really wanted to love their solid circulars, but they fail for two reasons. First, the cables are soft, even pliable. They still keep their curls longer than I'd like. The blue Addi cables, although more expensive, are almost done with this twist memory. Again, the same applies to the ChiaoGoo Red Lace cable and three cables. In my experience, they always have the smoothest connection. If you want a nice needle, I really don't think you can find anything that tops Knitter's Pride's various offerings, but these are expensive circular needles and the cords just aren't remarkable. The second feature I don't like is the very short distance the tip of the needle tapers. I like the gradual taper, and I don't even really want to see the ridge where the taper meets the straight. If you can imagine the shape of an elongated torpedo, that would be the lace shape best suited for knitting. This tip looks exactly like it was made in a short pencil sharpener. The stitches don't fit well and my normal knitting speed couldn't be reached.
