Nice Cookware, Sketchy Stove

The cookware is a really nice size for a single person. I'm a big fan on hard anodised aluminum, and while I would have liked a lid, this kit is very affordable, and I don't fault them for not including one at this price point. All you really need is a small piece of aluminum foil to make an effective, light, and easy to pack lid. With that said, while being completely functional, the stove is a bit lacking. It's pot supports are a kind of flimsy, and one of them is slightly bent at the hinge and doesn't' stay open all the way. It's got some spring action to it that keeps it from staying all the way in the open position unless some weight is set on it. You've got to be very careful when placing a pot on it to keep it from dumping . The burner works just fine, but is sensitive to wind, so will likely need a windscreen, and like all these pocket rocket type butane stoves, it sounds like a jet engine when lit.I will likely end up pairing the cook ware up with a trangia spirit burner for a light single person cook kit, and ether trade off, or gift away the stove. Overall I think it's a completely functional kit for a BOB or a day pack, and it is worth it's asking price, though it has room for improvement.

  • This product is tiny, unless you plan on warming up a cup of coffee and a can of beans, steer clear.
