I have quite a few umbrellas and am constantly on the lookout for the most compact (and at the same time largest (when open), lightest (and at the same time strong) umbrella. The side-to-side size is not 37.5 inches, but 34.5 inches. The tip-to-tip size is not 40 but 37.4 inches. So remember, this isn't a bad product, but if you pay attention to the details, you might become a disappointed victim of shoddy (if not deceptive) advertising.
