Review on ☂️ SY COMPACT Travel Umbrella - Factory of Umbrellas by Emily Morgan

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Yes but. Best in Luggage and Travel Gear

I have quite a few umbrellas and am constantly on the lookout for the most compact (and at the same time largest (when open), lightest (and at the same time strong) umbrella. It takes several uses to loosen the mechanism a little The release button is well designed and the handle cap snaps nicely when closed (in three sections. This should make the folded umbrella more compact, *shorter*, but also thicker. So it's always a compromise between simplicity and compactness. Was it worth it? You will read about it later is a design with 8 ribs instead of 6. Again, a compromise in terms of lightness for a more durable product - Seller advertises "7.04 ounces, 6.7 inches quite short (folded), ultra light" and size 37.5 wide, side to side (see ad image) which is almost 40 tip to tip Size is not 6.7 or 7 inches but 8.0 inches Weight is not 7oz (198g) but it is is 28% heavier, 9oz (255g) sleeveless. The side-to-side size is not 37.5 inches, but 34.5 inches. The tip-to-tip size is not 40 but 37.4 inches. So remember, this isn't a bad product, but if you pay attention to the details, you might become a disappointed victim of shoddy (if not deceptive) advertising.

Pros
  • ULTRA LIGHTWEIGHT AND COMPACT: With careful craftsmanship, this umbrella weighs only about 7.04 ounces. With a mini design, this umbrella is short enough (7 inches) to fit perfectly in your bag. Lightweight and small, this umbrella is perfect for everyone!
