The round wire seems very well protected and I expect it to last a very long time in a marine environment. Due to the large reinforced fiber, the outside diameter is slightly larger than I expected, but that's normal. I know the cable will last much longer. My only minor complaint is that the wire spool only has thin paper sides, no plastic to hold the 100 foot cords on the spool. When I received the cable, the sides of the spool were folded back, allowing the spools of cable to detach from the spool in the shipping box.
