You get what you pay for
The flow of water increased noticeably, but did not last even a year. I did not disassemble the lower tail to replace it with an OEM model, but the flow is already unstable and is now almost non-existent. My boat was coupled until I could replace it. The good news is that it fits my Mercury 50 3 cylinder engine and won't last long.
