Review on Enhance Internet Speed with TP-Link AC1200 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter (Archer T4U V1) by Doug Taylor

Full plug and play with Windows 10 Home (after Win 10 update date mid-April 2016)

They work great for me! I say "they" as I bought 2 of these, one for each of my computers that I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to 10. An interesting note - I upgraded from Win 10 in mid-April 2016, so I'm guessing that Win 10 has already helped solve many of the problems others have found with older installations. I had no problems upgrading either of my computers to Win 10, except that Wi-Fi stopped working on both after the install was complete. I've used old Medialink Wi-Fi adapters in the past and after a bit of research I found that they wouldn't make it with Win 10. I already have an Archer/TP-Link C9 router so I looked up Archer/TP Link Wi-Fi Adapter. because I was very satisfied with the C9. I bought this device based on the features and reviews, although I was a bit surprised by some of the negative reviews. In my case, however, both were fully connected to Windows 10. I did nothing but extract the previous wifi. Adapter with the Windows hardware eject icon, then installed the new Archer T4U and Windows did the rest. Completely plug and play. Again, I think they may have solved previous issues people had since I waited until mid-April for a Windows update. I have one of these at 5GHz (the computer next to the router) and the other at 2.4GHz (the one farthest from the router). Both work fine, no crashes, resets and other things required. And I'm getting about 10% faster speeds than my ISP quotes, so I'm very happy with the speed I'm getting on both bands. I don't have any Archer software or drivers installed at all, I just use any Windows 10 setup for them. I was ready to download the drivers based on what others had said in their reviews, but in my case they were completely up and running - it couldn't have been easier. It should be noted that they are quite large. I ended up using the good extension cable that came with it and plugged it in to open up the USB3 ports on the computers, then plugged the T4U into the other end of the cables (note the cables are oriented - you can only plug them in ). disposable). ). The extension cords are really good and have a lot of thickness. I like this setup so I can place the Wi-Fi adapters where I can see them so I can see the heartbeat reading just to make sure everything is ok. Overall, I'm perfectly happy with T4U on Windows 10. I've been getting great speeds and 100% uptime on both PCs for over a week. I'm not sure if they work so well because I have an Archer C9 router or if it's because I recently updated Windows 10 after Microsoft fixed previous installation issues, but either way I'm very pleased with the purchases. Thank you for reading. (If I run into any problems in the future I will update this review).
