Arrived on time with no damage. This power supply is exactly what I needed to replace a failed power supply on my Whirlpool WHES44 water softening system. Yes that's right. Whirlpool, Kenmore etc are all made by Ecodyne Water Systems, same thing just the labels are different! Check the label or directions if you don't believe me. This 24VDC 500mA Class 2 power supply (P/N 7351054) replaces your old 28VDC 350mA Class 2 power supply (P/N 7337482). Apparently there was a known issue with the old one and this one replaces it. Too bad the old 5 months broke after the 1 year warranty expired but only ran for 5 months. Tip: Buy a silly bottle of detergent along with fabric softener to extend your warranty to 2 years! That's right, it's too late because you're already watching that part. I've tried finding it at local stores including Lowe's (where I bought the water softener) with no luck. This was a better deal than Whirlpool Online Parts and Sears Online Parts. Both cost more shipping and take much longer. I decided to post this as my water softener ran for a month after this replacement. How to troubleshoot your existing power supply: no display, no status LED, no brine tank gauge, no error code, no button response, no regeneration. Basically nothing works? If you are not an electrician, STOP and call a service center, plumber, electrician, etc. If this is the case, proceed at your own risk.2. Check circuit breaker. I know but you will be surprised. Try it out. Reset if necessary.3. Disconnect the power supply to the water softener. Check your outlet. If it's GFCI (which it should be if your house is NEC compliant), check to see if it worked. Reset if necessary. Use an output tester (possibly with GFCI) to check the wiring.4. With the power disconnected, remove the top cover of the water softener. Look or photograph how it connects to the circuit board (control board) and remove the connectors from the pins. Be careful not to ground or short the connections, reconnect the power supply and check the DC voltage at the two connections with a multimeter. If the output voltage from your power supply is not as specified, the part is defective and needs to be replaced. If yes, sorry You may want to replace the control board. To replace the power supply, simply mount the new power supply connectors like the old ones, replace the cover and plug in the new power supply. to a working outlet. I hope this resolves your issue and you should be back in business. Note. Plug sizes do not match polarity and are not marked. But one wire is black and the other is black with a white-gray stripe. That's why you took the photo before. I can't guarantee what will happen if you reverse the polarity. If you're reading this, you're already trying to contact support. I am by no means a professional and I am not responsible if anything goes wrong. Do it at your own risk! Must have electrical and plumbing skills. Electricity, especially near water, is dangerous! Always follow all manuals, instructions, rules, regulations, rules and safety regulations. Much luck.
