Review on 🚰 Safety Siphon - The Original Self-Priming Pump for Multiple Uses By The Original Safety Siphon - 6-Foot High-Quality Hose, 1/2" Valve by Paul Walton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

perfect for transferring petrol from a bottle to a car

Just used this to transfer a 5 gallon can of petrol to my latest model car, worked quickly and perfectly. I didn't spill a single drop and probably only left about 1/4 cup in the glass after lifting it at an angle when it was almost empty. I was concerned that the plastic tubing (vinyl or other material) might not be stiff enough to go through the anti-siphon/tilt valve in the tank's "fill tube", but that wasn't a problem at all. There was also concern that a brittle tubing material would degrade after exposure to the gas, but despite the thickness of this material I don't think this would pose a problem. There is a video on utube showing a man placing a 5 gallon plastic can on the trunk of a car (a towel underneath to prevent scratching) and it gives the siphon enough height from the can to the car tank for a strong flow and I can attest to so many reasons that I have done just that. The operation was not timed, but the flow started immediately and the tank was empty in less than 3 minutes. To put a FULL or almost full can of gasoline into a car's tank, there can't be an easier or easier way to do it. Keep the physics in mind: you need to have enough liquid that you're sticking the valve in to allow at least 5-6 inches of freedom of movement (I guess) so you can keep the valve fully submerged. If you tried to run it in a partially filled jar, you might not be able to start the thread, or at least not just run it.

Pros
  • High quality hose 100% first class - very good fuel fit and FDA food approved
