Gets worse with age

I don't know why or what's wrong with this handheld scanner but it seems to be getting worse with age. I've only had it a few weeks and it can scan almost anything without a lot of work. Now it's got to the point that I can't even use it anymore, it's faster for me to just type in the codes manually, which is very annoying. Luckily the battery didn't die like other reviews say, but for me it's just as bad. I will send it back for a replacement and see what happens with the new one but if the new one is the same I will ask for a refund. I bought this scanner primarily for bulk items and it can't scan barcodes in bulk, but it also can't scan almost all the barcodes I've pointed to, so I give up. Just no, oddly I also scanned the same barcodes I was having trouble with on my phone and my phone scanned the same barcodes with no issues. I just don't think it's suitable for everyday use. When I first got it it seemed to work fine but now after 3 weeks it just can't scan anything. I give up.
