This is a very well made harness. However, you must tie your dog to the two back straps with a harness. Yes, I call the dog Kramer because he has a dark crazy coat, he is clumsy, often stumbles through the air. But I've even tried it in our well-established UK lab and the result is the same. Dogs have difficulty moving from a sitting position to lying down or standing up while buckled. Kramer is lying on his back, head on the floor, legs tangled in the belt, playing cool. I attached a Kurgo strap to the strap with a strong carabiner at the end - I'm sure this weakens the strap as a whole, but I couldn't find any other solution. Also, the metal clips that attach them to seat belts can be a little tricky at first. Once you figure out that only one side of the metal clip fits into the receiver end, you're good to go. Also, I have found that the leash often becomes loose, especially when used as a walking leash. When walking, I stop several times to pull him up.
