I live in the desert where relative humidity is often 5-10%. Every time I used my Audioquest LP Static Static Brush it generated enough static electricity to lift my felt mat on my Marantz TT with the LP when it was removed from the disc, which is a little ironic given it's an 'Static Static Brush " acts". So I mostly skip this stage of record maintenance. All that noise put a lot of dust on my records, and believe me, there's a lot of dust in the desert. This leather rug solved that unsolvable problem. It's beautiful and it slips not on the glass; there is no problem with the center hole size as some have reported. Again, it is round enough and circumvents the problems that others have reported. I am very happy with this inexpensive solution to a nasty static problem. After After a few weeks of listening I can say that this also improves the sound somewhat.
