So this will curl your (wet) hair. If you wrap your hair around it while your hair is damp, pin the ends up and lie on them to sleep, they will frizz. Will they get the beachy waves/curls that you can get with a curling iron...not really, at least not for MY hair. I have light to medium brown hair that I highlight. My hair is long, about 4 inches from my waist. My hair is naturally wavy, dry, I have a lot of hair but not coarse. I washed my hair, let it air dry for the most part, and then started curling it up. After I finished, I thought that it would come out in my sleep, ie too free. So I rewound it - tighter! I think it was my fault because my hair frizzes easily and stays in a curl for a long time. So when I woke up and pulled out the "tape," I had super tight curls on top and looser curls on the bottom. Don't pull your hair too tight if you expect loose curls (yes, in my opinion). Also, most of the time I prefer to air dry my hair. I think if it was during the day and I put it on to let my hair dry it would be perfect! I put on my silk hat to fall asleep, which I didn't think was necessary to stop her, it felt pretty safe. I always wear a hat to protect my hair. The bed wasn't very uncomfortable which was a bonus. However, if you sleep on your side, you may have problems. The packaging was beautiful and very nice! The clip is held very tightly to keep the "tape in place" and the silk hair ties are oversized and really well made. I chose this curling iron because I needed quality that other cheaper options didn't have. I feel like I made the right choice! The only thing - I would like more directions! (Therefore 4 stars) I felt like I was flying! My bottom line shows it! I would have liked a little manual with pictures. Overall it will definitely be a trial and error process until you get it right for YOUR hair and the look you want to achieve! I hope in the future they make curlers in different thicknesses, I think they could be a bit thicker for those who want looser curls.
