Used Pure filters for years, never knew how bad they were until I got this one. Made in Japan, I think it's like Toyota vs. Dodge in resale value. You pay a little more for this filter, but it's worth it. The parts are solid, there are hardly any weak points, the operation is simple but more efficient than the Pure/Britta. The outlet pressure is also impressive, the water flow is not blocked by this filter and it aerates unfiltered or, if desired, also supplies aerated unfiltered flow.
