I am 1.70 m tall and have an athletic build; big booty and hips with a smaller waist. I usually wear something between 4-6 in US sizes. I bought them for 28/Long based on other reviews. But I think 27/Reg would be a better fit. I didn't need the extra length and the size 28 was big on my waist but didn't constrict my legs. These are my favorite waterproof pants! (And I've probably had a dozen different pairs.) I wore them on my trip to Iceland in June. They did a great job on a 3 day hike, walking behind waterfalls, battling sporadic rain for hours and even hiking across a glacier with cats. And all this at the same time looks stylish with a narrow leg. All of the other waterproof pants I own are baggy or even slightly flared, which works great when you're putting on boots, but it also means they sometimes get snagged on shoes. After a while they wear out in certain places. But I can pull my wool socks over these pants so they never wear out! I also like the look much better. The fleece lining is so warm and comfortable that my legs are still toasty even in the evenings when it's only around 30 degrees Celsius. Highly recommended.
