I've been shooting with DSLRs for a number of years. The first (A350) felt like a brick, but my A77 with the big lenses is like carrying around a gallon of water. The regular strap did the trick, but on my last trip I'd like a little more peace of mind. The belt does what it should; gives your fingers a breather when you don't want to strain them all day. Pros: Reasonably priced, solid enough that I never felt like the camera would fall when I took my fingers off it. Offers the ability to rotate the camera to "unorthodox" positions to get the perfect shot. Disadvantages: The adjustment buckles are always twisted - it's annoying because you feel like it's happening. You need to stop from time to time to smooth them out. The screw on the tripod mount doesn't inspire much confidence in me - I kept checking it after I first saw it move away from the body. Blocks battery and memory card slot on Sony; Get ready to take it all off to change. When using a tripod, screw the camera directly onto it. It's not a bad product by any means and I'm used to its quirks. I took a risk and it paid off: I fell into the lake, but a high hand and a sure grip saved a very expensive SLR. I'd rather buy five of these than one super expensive one. It gives me a lot of confidence - I kept checking that after I first saw him start to pull away.
