This is a very good mat that I used for Dungeons & Dragons 5e. I'm used to wet erase vinyl but this dry erase finish is beating my pants! Very smooth on both sides. One is plain white with a square grid and the other has the beautiful appearance of faded parchment with a square grid. Like a whiteboard, markers rub off easily for small stains (rare stains can be removed with water and paper towels). The kit includes good dry erase markers and a good eraser. I haven't checked the quality of the free dice, but I haven't noticed any issues with them yet. I recommend laying it on the floor with heavy books or stacks of magazines in the corners for the day once you've taken it out of the transport/storage tube. This will prevent it from twisting and twisting. I highly recommend this product (especially compared to expensive vinyl carpets)!
