I had to rewind some scratching posts for my cats. Most sisal and jute were too "fibrous". You know those sharp fibers that detach from a real ball of yarn. It's nice and smooth, but not so smooth that my cats don't want to use the grids. It is wrapped nice and tight which makes the whole project easier. I read another reviewer (for a different product) who complained that the lack of an actual cardboard tube in the center made packaging difficult. But it has this role. No problems or disappointments. It is very easy to work with, my hands and fingers are not scratched by broken fibers and best of all: my cats love their "new" scratching posts. Would definitely buy again.
