I use this HEI in my 1975 Ford Van. Having used universities for decades, I know their shortcomings. Infant mortality is usually caused by a lack of lubrication on the upper sleeve. So if you buy it we recommend taking it apart and putting plenty of grease on the top bushing. This HEI did not have a pin to hold the gear in the assembly making it difficult to install and reinstall. You can do that, but installing the stylus like others makes it easy. After installing 100,000 km there are no problems.
