4K@60Hz works reliably with M1, just wish there were more USB Type-A ports

Just got a MacBook Air M1 and have been reading Revain reviews on many hubs where people have been getting conflicting results with 4K@60Hz over HDMI. To be on the safe side, I bought this and another well-reviewed USB-C hub that also claims to support 4K@60Hz over HDMI, a VAVA 12-in-1 USB-C docking station. I am happy to say that this Anker hub has performed flawlessly. I connected my MBA's power supply to a hub, then the hub to my MBA and everything just worked. And in my case, I'm connecting to a 32-inch LG UHD display via HDMI. And I have no display issues when waking up from sleep or hot-plugging the hub into my MBA. The only downside so far has been the number of USB Type A ports - I really wish it had 1 or 2 more. On my old MacBook Pro (2015) I have the webcam on my external display interface MOTU, Apple Wired Keyboard, mounted and Epson scanner. , they are all hard-wired to the USB hub and have yet another USB Type-A port for connecting any flash drive or external hard drive. But also with a USB Type-A to C adapter after connecting the USB Type-C hub I need to do something to juggle devices. And that's exactly why I tried this particular VAVA dock - it has LOTS of Type A USB ports. Unfortunately the VAVA dock was really unstable with my external monitor via HDMI with the monitor usually no signal, loss of connection after waking off the sleep mode or other problems. using the same monitor and cable that I am using successfully with this Anker hub. For that reason, I give this Anker hub full marks for reliable performance right out of the box. I just wish it had more Type-A ports, especially since Apple put so little on the MBA itself.
