I have been sewing for over 50 years and this is the first time I have bought a thread end control, in large part because I am very thrifty. Also, my talented seamstress mom has been sewing beautiful things for years without these accessories, even without tracing paper tools! But now anything is welcome that makes my life easier, so I bought them as a reward. They're not as useful as I expected. I've already made some homemade versions of the loop style for holding thread and bobbins with the low tension cord I have on the spool. Works great for keeping them together but doesn't do anything about annoying thread tails. The swivel clip works well on spools as long as you make sure the end of the line is under the clip. The same goes for wraps that are too small for anything other than a standard spool of thread. Amazon's photos say otherwise, and you can wrap the wrap around large spools, but not tight enough to stay on. Useless for conical threads. I could also get a mesh tube like the one that came with my overlock. In summary, I have to say that they are only of limited use and only partially fulfill my current expenditure test: Does it make my life easier? Not quite, because we still need to store wound threads and bobbins in or on something, and they don't fit on my racks or boxes anymore. So it's not very economical to spend $10. However, I don't sew anymore. But I have 2 young grandchildren who may want to play with this and will most likely use the clips as crab claws for each other. . Get your money's worth with the passage of time. It's easier to justify the cost in 30-50 years. When I'm in my 60's it's harder to justify, especially when it doesn't meet my spending criteria. I recommend keeping an eye on the prices, which change frequently. I suspect there is a huge factory in China that makes these things and sells them to multiple brands; same product, same performance. There is no shortage of choice on amazon.com. I think one of them is as good as any other. By the way, the thread chaos in my picture shows what happens when you drop a loose spool of upholstery yarn. Sorry, too lazy to fix this review right away. Nothing to do with this product. Also look for the mesh tube I mentioned on the blue cone thread.
