I bought this stand to replace the precariously folded textbooks I used to set up my monitor. I chose this product because it is the widest (short side of the rectangle) stand I could find that also opens at the bottom so I can easily slide my laptop and keyboard underneath. It's also fairly lightweight, durable and requires no assembly. However, the main problem is that the top surface is not completely flat. The photo shows what a flat ruler looks like lying on a stand - you can see that in the middle the surface of the stand is slightly curved. The video shows the result: I can rock my monitor back and forth. That being said, there's also no risk of my monitor tipping over if I leave it alone, and wobbling isn't a problem enough for me. to return the item. Overall, this stand does a good job of tidying up my desk, elevating my monitor, and freeing up space underneath for it to do its job. I wish it looked more aesthetically pleasing, but come on, it's a monitor stand. But in any case, the buyer should know if the surface needs to be perfectly flat for any reason.
