Great news, size as expected. Purchased standard US size dance shoes. I wear US (women) size 9 in street shoes and usually buy 8 or 8.5 in dance shoes. I bought them in 8.5. For maximum control while dancing, dance shoes should be slightly shorter than your foot - no frills. I bought these as cheap training shoes for the summer months. I dance at weekly outdoor salsa events and this dance floor doesn't feel like the smooth hardwood of a studio and can be brutal on shoes. I didn't want to ruin a brand new $100+ pair of dance shoes this way. Also, the heat makes my feet swell, especially when I'm active, causing me to outgrow my winter training shoes—remember what I said about sizing: there shouldn't be too much room in a well-fitting dance shoe. Interestingly, I bought these after deciding never to buy dance shoes online again. The fit of dance shoes depends a lot on your foot and the shoe/brand you buy, or at least that's my experience. I've only had mediocre success with dance shoes bought online. Unfortunately, there are very few places in the city where I can try on and buy ballroom dancing shoes. One is more than 30 miles away, another is functioning unpredictably, and the owner rarely answers calls or answers virtual machines. The studios I dance at have small collections but not a wide range of sizes. As much as I wanted to buy dance shoes online again, I had no choice. I was looking for wide (stable) shoes with low heels that are very open at the front. I needed enough material/strap to keep my foot stable but not enough to chafe my foot and cause blisters. Open-toed shoes with small holes in the front have historically caused chafing and blisters on the big toe. My foot keeps slipping forward (open toe) and the place where it "pokes out" of the hole in the front of the shoe rubs when I dance. These shoes do not rub or cause blisters. They are sturdy and much more padded than I expected. They actually feel a bit plush and "bouncy" due to the cushioning in the sole of the shoe, which I liked. The buckle is great because it allows you to choose the tension of your belt and once you've secured it with the buckle, all you have to do is slide the buckle part in and out, making it quick and easy to put on and take off your shoes be able . . One of the first reviewers of this shoe was unaware that the design was intentional and thought their shoe was broken. The shoe straps can be shortened if they are too long. I didn't cut mine, but I did make some extra holes in the straps to make sure they were snug enough on the top of the foot. It's all right when you choose your personal fit in dance shoes. I'm very happy to say that they fit the purpose I bought them for and last a good month or so of using them. I didn't get blisters from these shoes rubbing my foot the wrong way. Hooray! By far the best online purchase of dance shoes. I can finally stop using the leuka tape I wrapped around my feet and toes in my other dance shoes. Long nights of ballroom dancing usually meant bubbles. Overall, I'm very happy with this relatively inexpensive shoe. It's inexpensive, but not cheap. Also, they may not be showstoppers, but they are beautiful enough and most importantly, comfortable for working out, which means I can dance longer and happier! The net is also holding up well. Oh, they also came with an inexpensive dust bag that's perfect for classes or social gatherings. If it helps, my foot: medium width, flat, narrow heel. If you use them for ballroom dancing and have very narrow feet, I think this shoe might be too wide for you. This shoe is best suited for medium to slightly wider feet (in the forefoot area).
