The two adapters I received are connected completely differently. After checking for continuity I found that the PH38 has a 1:1 pinout where each pin is wired separately. On the other side, the PH38B connects all ground and sense pins and all +12V pins. When used with an ATX power supply, the PH38B's pin bonding might not pose much of a problem from a user perspective, but from an electrical perspective I believe each pin needs to be wired separately (as in PH38). At the very least, the product description should really explain the difference in how the two adapters connect. Note that both of my adapters were REV 1.3. Maybe future versions will change the way they connect.
