Very disappointed with this device. I have used homeplugs in the past for smaller connections in homes with limited success. I recently switched to gigabit fiber broadband, but my apartment doesn't have ethernet and I have a roommate, so I figured this might be a good short-term option to get a stable, high-quality wired connection throughout my apartment. . I figured there might be a loss - maybe 200-300 Mbps. About 600 Mbps was quite acceptable to me as a relatively cheap and short-term solution. However, after plugging in the TP-Link homeplugs, I found that my speed dropped from 950Mbps before plugging it in to 60Mbps after I plugged it in! That's a speed reduction of 93.7%! I've set up tpPLC and it shows I'm getting close to 400Mbps between my outlets at home, but if that's the case I can't fucking see it! I've since decided to investigate a MoCA 2.5 setup, and for those of you with Gigabit who are considering these devices as a possible method of transferring that data, I encourage you to stop and consider other options like MoCA 2.5 draw.
