Pros: This is a good remote control option for fans without this feature. The control box that rises in the fan is slightly smaller than the others and worked well for my setup. While the remote itself doesn't have a backlight, the buttons are easy to use in dim or no light once you get comfortable with them. If the power is off at the switch and you turn it on, the light comes on (and beeps, see cons below) so you don't have to fumble for the remote to turn the light on. Cons: When you press the buttons on the remote control, the fans emit a sound signal confirming receipt of a command (turn lights on or off, change fan speed). This can be a little disturbing when someone is sleeping as it can get in the way. One star deducted for that. All in all a good option for my situation. I hope that was helpful.
