Well it does what it has to do. It's quite stiff but keeps you warm, sometimes too warm, the vents help a bit. I've crashed a few times (first bike) and never had any bumps or bruises on my upper body, which helps. I haven't had to stop my bike at high speed so can't comment on how durable it is but the back panel is fairly dense foam and the elbows and shoulders have plastic protection that is unnoticeable when riding and seems solid but I have no idea how much it helps. Solid for the price though. Great value for money will show to anyone on a budget. Thanks to the manufacturer for a reasonably priced jacket that seems up to the task and doesn't look bad.
