Judging by other reviews, this doesn't happen often, but it happened to me. I used this on a new but weathered black leather sofa. Good, rather expensive furniture. Since my dog left scratches, we went for the weathered look. This product helped - the scratches almost disappeared. But we soon discovered (through twin babies) that the paint was coming off (from hands, face, clothes, etc!). After dyeing the pillows, I used a paper towel to prevent this from happening. No problem with dry paper towels. We learned that if you do the same thing with a wet paper towel, the paper towel will instantly turn black. So all wet hands, drinks, etc. remain black everywhere. Not funny. We now treat the cushions with Fiebing Water and Stain Protector. The first layer helped a little but didn't solve the problem. Now the 2nd layer is drying, but it's over and I had to order another can. I doubt this will fix the problem. And if not, then I don't know what to do.
