We bought this after one of our favorite Pampered Chef bricks broke after 20 years. And we got it back after one use. This is in no way a similar product and it is not suitable for our needs. We found the cooking requirements very impractical for the type of material it was made from. We use our bricks every week to make everything from homemade bread to pizza, chicken wings, french fries, homemade cookies etc. We use them for anything you would normally use a pizza pan or skillet for, we're die-hards Pottery fans. But Pampered Chef bricks only take a few minutes to heat up and cook properly. The need to heat this product to 500 degrees for at least 30 minutes before anything can be cooked on it, as well as the recommendation not to cook frozen or even cold food on it, and the need to dry it for 24 hours before post being reused after rinsing, all this limits too much its use for what we are looking for. Who wants to wait 1 hour to bake pizza and 1 1/2 hours to bake bread? Especially not being able to cook anything else with it? I have no doubt that if you have the time and funds for electricity to double or triple your stove usage, endless propane to heat it that long on the grill, or endless wood to keep it on the grill that long to heat fire, eventually it will . produce delicious pizza and bread, but it's not worth it for us if a stone made of a different material gives the same results with less time and less maintenance. We prefer a more flexible product. That being said I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because the company's packaging was phenomenal - very securely and professionally wrapped. And I appreciated the professional detailed instructions for use that come with the kit. For us personally, it's just not the right product. (It also had a VERY strong perfume-like odor that permeated our home, which was particularly bad for cooking (very bad for those of us with severe allergies and breathing issues with scents), but I suspect it has to do with indoor storage has Revain stock and not with the company or the product itself, because lately everything that came out of the Revain stock smelled like that.)
