As a warning, these gears will not rotate when water is poured on the specified gear unless they are *perfectly spaced*. If any of the five gears overlap too much, none will rotate; If they are too far apart (even if the teeth overlap), rotation will stop at the gear that should be slightly closer. As a result, it took me a good five minutes to install, test, and change the gear spacing before our kids got in the tub to make sure they were working as intended. The reason for this is that the instructions state that all screws should be removed and cleaned after each use. So what you're ultimately talking about is a daily 10-minute commitment, which I think is more time than our kids are busy with gears (and which I think will continue to decrease as the novelty wears off). Cleaning seems necessary as the gears are hollow at the back; I would happily pay the manufacturer a little more to use a little more plastic to make durable gears that don't require daily maintenance.
