Review on πŸ”‘ Enhanced Key Ninja - Efficiently Organize Up To 30 Keys, Dual LED Lights, Integrated Bottle Opener by Richard Counts

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great for the price but can hold 1-30 keys.

Great value for money key management system. I start with the bad and move on to the good. Bad: - The general bracket for attaching the unit to other things (e.g. your car's key fob) is statically built into one side, causing the whole unit to snag. slanted (see picture), which annoyed me. The trays are too close together for regular sized house keys to comfortably fit in the unit compared to other similar products. If you only use one side to hold the keys (max 3 due to only 10 pads) this shouldn't be a problem. The light bar is almost 4 buttons thick and takes up space on both sides. News (I know how it's designed, but it takes up a lot more space than you think) if there was a second "thin" side to make the light bar optional, that would be a pretty nice improvement. - The light strip wobbles unless you insert the included o-rings into the holes between the stand and the plastic case, which is very difficult as they don't want to come out and come out every time you take it apart depending on the configuration of the item change. GOOD (almost everything else): Can 30 keys fit in? Yes, if you don't fully fasten all the parts but use Loctite to keep them from falling apart. In fact most people fit 14 keys on it, I don't have many but I have them. I have digital calipers and have taken a number of measurements. Dimensions (plus or minus 0.02mm): - Internal dimension with extensions: 13.99mm - Lightstick thickness: 6.38mm - Maximum theoretical internal dimension: 30mm without light - Thickness of gasket included: 0.74mm - Thickness of back plate: 2mm - Extension Length (unthreaded): 7.08 - Shaft Thickness: 4.2mm (thin enough for most keys, too thick for some keys but I got around this with a hand drill) Assembled with all the extensions and with no visible threads, internal bearing is 14mm between the side of the light bar and the side of the metal bottle opener. The average key is 2-2.2mm thick (at least my homemade Schlage key is 2.2mm thick), giving you 7 keys per rack. a key in a lock or help finding an object in a dark room, but trying to use it to follow a dark trail would be bad. I haven't tried a bottle opener, but I've seen more fragile items work well and I think that would work well too. The instructions provided are excellent and will show you how to assemble the product as it is intended to be used. If I hadn't gotten another (more expensive) item at the same time I would probably keep the item as it is well made but the inconveniences I mentioned in the 'bad' section in addition to only having one set of keys mean I'll send the item back, even if it's cheap.

Pros
  • Holds up to 30 keys
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
