Review on AMD Ryzen 3900XT 24 Threads Processor by Mateusz Kazana ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Matches the description completely, very satisfied.

I took it to my home server in order to switch it to monero mining in my free time. The main condition is a high hash rate at low consumption and low temperature. Given: 1. Memory b-die samsung 3200 14/14/14 2x8gb 2. Inexpensive dropsy for cooling 3. x570 motherboard socket Mining from the drain (memory included in xmp) Ubuntu 20.04: - 12500H/s - 54 C temperature - 59 W consumption (AMD Master) - Frequency 3600 bus (that is, the bios is stock 3100) - very quiet since the low temperature and CO are set to the quietest mode In general, at first it was enough for me, and according to the benchmark table, this percentage on monero is about the same and gives out in stock. Then he set the task of squeezing the maximum while maintaining the tighter silence of CO, which means that the temperature should be small. During overclocking, I realized that at 70 degrees CO starts to make an unpleasant noise and consume more than 90 watts, by testing I found the temperature range for a comfortable noise level is 60C - 64C and began to select the parameters for the highest hashrate so as not to go beyond the temperature and so that the consumption is less 90 watts As a result, I turned off the xmp profile for the memory and manually set the timings, but I could not overclock the memory in frequency (above the stock 3200), because it was necessary to increase the voltage both on the memory and on the processor, which led to more zhor and a higher temperature of the processor. After the memory, I selected the cpu settings with the maximum hashrate and minimum energy consumption, and therefore, a lower CPU temperature. Final Overclocking: - 15660H/s - temperature 61 C - 65 C - consumption 85 W - 90 W - locked frequency 4200 for all cores - 1.1 CPU Core voltage - DRAM voltage 1.365 You can also lower the temperature to 59 C by lowering the CPU Core to 1.08750, while the hashrate itself does not fall at all and even, on the contrary, grows by about 50, but then the miner starts to crash after a few hours. I easily got 16000 H / s with a core lock of 4300, but the zhor becomes 95 W and the temperature rises to 68 C, given that the server is mining / working for days, I didn’t torment him like that.

Pros
  • - Cold - eats little - Cheaper than the X/XT version - 24 threads
