They run true to size, I ordered 10 and thought they might fit shorter as I'm taller but they were still only a few inches above my knee, so I would also be comfortable with 8 inches. They are very stretchy and have a nice buttery texture. They're thick enough to have some shrink and peel resistance, but also thin enough that lighter colors may show a bit of cellulite. Overall they are great for the price.
