The muffins come out of the pan as described, you just have to be careful how quickly you do it after baking and at what angle you do it. I made this yesterday and a couple of my mini cupcakes started separating at the bottom, but that's due to the awkwardness of pushing the cup shape out. It's also a bit awkward to set the oven on because you need something flat underneath to support it (I used a baking sheet) otherwise it's flexible. The muffins will taste normal after putting them in the dishwasher first to get rid of the silicone smell before use.
