As with all Piel leather bags, the leather is luxurious, supple but durable. Piping is attached to the outer edges to support the upright position. The width is only at the bottom and narrows towards the opening, making it difficult to move in and out. The bag is a lot smaller than I originally thought. Aside from my love for all Piel leather, I will have to return it. I also bought a Piel leather flip top messenger bag for everyday use (grown up from the 8x9x6 bag I used) and they are almost the same size.
