When it arrived, due to handling in transit, the tension rod on the right end came out of the panel mount on the right to prevent the canvas from curling up when lowered. After removing and inspecting the right end, I found that the rod at the end had come out of the socket body and the spring latch needed to be installed back into the cylinder socket. I rolled up the screen, pulled out the rod and spring and reinserted the spring latch, then added a twist to tighten the spring's tension before putting the end with the tension rod back into the groove in the metal plate that worked good, retract after opening. I'm not sure what can be done to help him push to the point where the rod comes out of the endplate rendering it useless. Someone who isn't that mechanical would give up and just throw it back into a pile of chaos.
