I love having 10ft cables so I can use my device while charging. However, this convenience comes at a price, because longer wires mean more electrical resistance. When used with a standard slow charger, the devices will charge even slower than usual due to the voltage drop. When used with a fast charger, the devices charge quickly, but the end of the cable that connects to the charger gets very hot. Not hot enough to burn skin but a little uncomfortable. When buying a long USB cable, I recommend finding a cable with a larger gauge wire. 22 or 20 AWG is too thin for long cords, look for the thicker 18 AWG (yes, it's confusing that lower numbers mean thicker wires). Despite the thickness of the wire, the cable looks and feels good and doesn't tangle thanks to the nylon jacket. Connections are tight.
