Before I saw the instructions (which were in the packaging with the seat cushion) I started assembling the base because it is very easy to assemble and the hardware is included. It took me about 45 minutes, and that's only because I was fixated on aligning one of the screws. At the armrest attachment point, one sticks out a bit, but not enough to hold on to anywhere. For me it's more of a compulsive/aesthetic issue (laughs!) but I LOVE this chair. Back cushions, armrests, seat height, headrest and adjustable seat, it reclines slightly. I just received it today so I'm hoping it will last a while and stay comfortable and durable.
