I have several of these books and my almost 2 year old loves them. I introduced her to her when she was about 20 months old for a long trip. They kept her busy for hours. This is a great alternative to coloring books and crayons for a number of reasons. First, it simply uses water and dries quickly, allowing the child to keep "painting” for hours. Second, if your kid is too young to trust crayons on a car ride, then this works great (my kid was still eating crayons when we went on the car ride). My kid has been drawing on them for months and they are still great. The only reason they are in bad shape is because she brought them real crayons. We're trying to teach her that the only way to color these books is with a water pen. So the 3 we originally bought are kind of shot, but I have 3 more that she hasn't even seen. She hasn't used it yet.
