Great for cocktails etc. I wanted shorter, thicker straws that are easier to clean and better suited for cocktails. They're still high enough for fizzy fast food drinks if needed. I have a small pencil case for her and I have something in the car to drink on the way. Metal is a little less pleasant to drink than silicone, but you get used to it quickly and it's much easier to clean and disinfect. I've had many silicone o-rings and the like over the years that warp the surface that can't be boiled off or removed and has to be thrown away. Because of this, I wasn't interested in buying silicone straws just for the mouthfeel. Once you get used to cleaning and carrying straws, it becomes second nature and easier than you think. Just break your habit of plastic straws. You'll be glad you did.
