I got new hearing aids last year. They have all sorts of new technologies that really make my life easier, but they're a lot more sensitive to moisture than my previous ones. When I went to see an audiologist for moisture removal I was told that I would probably need a dry box. I signed up with them. They are expensive and many are noisy. I did a little research and decided to buy them and put them in a small jar with open hearing aids overnight. It worked like a charm! They were inexpensive and reusable, my hearing aids work well and my husband doesn't have to listen to the fan in our room. When I travel I put a few in a lockable box and use them. I no longer needed repairs. After a month or more (depending on MN season) they start to turn pink and I place them on a vented pizza pan and bake them at 450F for 30-45 minutes. Some have been charged multiple times due to my husband using them with his cameras. I can't tell which ones were loaded by looking at the package. A word of caution: store them in an airtight place once you remove them from the oven. The first time I left them on the stove to cool off that summer, they soaked up moisture and turned pink again. Now I just throw them in the original bag. You are not that hot.
