These are comfortable warm shoes. The small heel fins take some getting used to, but they are also comfortable from the start. I started wearing these New Balance mesh sneakers because they fit my fairly wide, fairly flat feet very well. There is a bit of hard rubber on the toes which caused a hot spot the first few times I wore them, but they broke or maybe my feet got a little calloused. The only downside is that they absorb sweat. Feet don't stink, but they do sweat. A lot of sweat in shoes after 12 hours of use, and these things absorb odors quickly. That's the catch with all pillows, you got smelly lips.
